Avonsyde Boulevard – Bypass Connector Road Open
Councillor Partridge is pleased to inform residents that Avonsyde Boulevard, the new Bypass connector corridor that connects Dundas to Parkside Drive, is officially open as of September 1, 2017. This is the new road to divert traffic away from the Waterdown Core up to connect with Parkside drive, and also includes a fully functioning stop light. All residents are encouraged to use Avonsyde Boulevard instead of Evans Road or Spring Creek Drive
A motion to expedite and install street lighting on Evans Road will come forward at the next Council meeting. Councillor Partridge will be asking for the installations to take place as early as possible. The lights will be installed on the existing Bell and Alectra hydro poles, which will require permission from both utility companies. We are hopeful that both will be co-operative in the request to expedite approvals and installation. It is her hope to have the street lights installation complete sometime in September. This should be a great improvement especially during the winter months when it gets darker earlier.
