On February 1st a dispute erupted on a school bus on Centre Road between to passengers. Words were exchanged and items thrown. The bus returned to the school and those involved removed from the bus and spoken to by police. There were no injuries and those involved showed remorse for their actions. The school will follow up and the school liaison officer has been advised.
Sometime over the past week various power tools were taken from a residence on Highway 8. The home is having renovations done with various trades people in and out of the home. It was discovered that after hours the suspect removed a screen and forced a window at the rear of the home and gained entry. The scenes of crimes officer attended to collect evidence. The investigation has been forwarded to the detective branch.
Overnight on February 2nd unknown suspects smashed the driver’s side window of a vehicle parked on the street on Attridge Crescent. Various items were taken from the vehicle.
On February 3rd at 2:36 am police observed a vehicle northbound on Highway 6 travelling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was clocked at 148 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was charged with stunt driving, driver’s licence was seized and vehicle towed.
On February 3rd at 3:20 am a resident on First Street awoke to the sound of his SUV engine starting in his driveway. The unlocked vehicle was stolen from his driveway by unknown suspects. Police checked the area with negative results.
On February 4th at 11:37 am police were called to Concession 8 West for a vehicle in the ditch. The vehicle had been travelling eastbound when it hit an icy section. The vehicle slid into the ditch coming into contact with a hydro pole. Hydro attended to inspect the hole which had minimal damage. The driver did not sustain any injuries.
Sometime during the past month suspects entered a storage area on John Street. Several storage units were entered by prying open the locks. Various items were taken. The scenes of crimes officer attended to collect any evidence and the detective branch and pawn unit have been advised.
