Overnight on July 17th suspects forced the lock on a van parked in a driveway on Overdale Avenue. Various tools were taken from the vehicle.
During the early hours of July 17th an unlocked vehicle was entered while it was parked in a driveway on Riley Street. A wallet was taken from the vehicle.
On July 18th at 4:23 am police were called to Longyear Drive for an abandoned auto left running in the street. The vehicle was located and it was noted that the door lock and steering column had been damaged. The owner was contacted and was unaware that the vehicle had been taken. Police will be checking for any surveillance video in the area.
On July 19th at 3:25 am police were conducting RIDE lanes on Highway 5. Officers could smell alcohol on a stopped driver. He admitted to having “a few about four hours ago”. The driver provided a sample of his breath and registered an “alert”. His driver’s licence was seized and he was issued a three day suspension.
A citizen parked his riding lawnmower on his driveway on Sydenham Road after cutting the grass with the key in the ignition. Sometime between 9:00 pm on July 18th and 7:00 am on July 19th suspects took the mower. A truck would be required to take it over any distance.
On July 19th police were called to a worksite Tews Lane for an industrial accident. Information was that a worker had fallen. Police attended along with ambulance. The worker was transported to hospital and police were advised that his injuries were not serious or life threatening. Police held the scene until relieved by the Ministry of Labour.
On July 20th at 5:38 pm police stopped a speeding vehicle that was southbound on Highway 52. A check of the driver revealed that their drivers licence was under suspension. The driver was given a summons to attend court and the driver’s licence was seized. The driver was also given a ticket for speeding.
