Overnight on March 19th two vehicles parked in a lot on John Street West were entered. One vehicle had its driver’s side window smashed and the other had its driver’s side door lock damaged. Both cars were entered and several items taken from them.
Overnight on March 19th suspects attempted to steal two vehicles. One was parked on Mill Street, and one Hamilton Street North. Suspects damaged the interior of both vehicles but were not successful in taking them.
On the morning of March 20th the owner of a 2003 Ford pickup discovered that it had been stolen from a driveway on Melanie Avenue and reported it to police. On March 25th Hamilton Police were contacted by Stratford Police who had located the licence plate from the stolen pickup. The vehicle is still missing.
On the morning of March 20th a resident on Sunnycroft Court noticed damage to the garage door. Several dents to the door were noticed by the owner. It appears that the damage may have occurred sometime overnight. There are no suspects at this time.
On March 21st residents of Troy Road noticed that a snowmobile had been taken from their residential driveway. The 2009 black Polaris snowmobile had been parked in front of the garage.
On March 23rd during the afternoon unknown suspects pried open the rear door of a residence on Concession 10 West and gained entry. Rooms were ransacked and various items taken. The scenes of crimes officer attended to collect evidence.
On March 24th at 8:19 am police pulled over a speeding vehicle on Sager Road. It was discovered that the driver was suspended and had no proof of insurance. As a result the driver was given a ticket for speeding and summonses for driving while under suspension and driving without insurance. The vehicle was then towed from the scene.
Sometime during the day on March 24th suspects took a vehicle while it was parked in a lot of a business on Highway 5. Police will be inquiring regarding any surveillance video in the area.
On March 26th it was discovered that a theft had occurred at a job site on Highway 6. The theft occurred sometime during the previous weekend. Several large heavy items were taken from the site and it is believed a truck would have been required to move it. Police will be reviewing surveillance video.
On March 25th at 6:58 am police pulled over a vehicle on Highway 5 that was travelling at a high rate of speed. It was discovered that the driver was suspended. The driver was issued a summons, his licence was seized and the vehicle towed.
On March 25th between 3:30 and 4:30 pm a vehicle parked on Union Street was entered while the owner went for a walk. The vehicle sustained no damage and a wallet that had been left in the vehicle was taken.
