James Dick Construction Ltd. is proposing a large under water quarry at Twiss Road and Reid Side Road in Campbellville, which may affect rural residents in north of Carlisle and those who border on the Flamborough Milton boundary (Millborough Side Road). The company is proposing to use an un-tested and un-proven underwater extraction process for source water mitigation, which is of grave concern. The opening and operation of this quarry may negatively affect wells and water sources, environment, housing prices, traffic and much more.
There is a community group in Milton working with all potentially affected residents to fight against the approval of this proposed quarry. In order for James Dick Construction Ltd to receive license approval to operate this site as a mining operation for aggregate, they must first respond to the over 1,000 objections that have been sent in, including those from the Town of Milton, Halton Region, OLG and others.
