In 2016, applications were submitted to the City to build residential units at Truedell Circle. There are a number of issues, including residents’ concerns around the number of units proposed, types of units, density, traffic and more. Councillor Partridge shares these concerns and does not support the development in its current state. Before the OMB appeal, the applicant had assured Councillor Partridge, over the past two and a half years, that there would be public meetings held in the community for residents to provide feedback. This would have allowed for public input on the proposed development. After the applicant submitted new concept plans and met with staff last Fall, it was then appealed to the OMB without the promised public meetings.
A preliminary prehearing, held last month, resulted in the need for additional prehearing and legal considerations, which will be held later this Fall. This will be a very long, drawn out OMB appeal. We will keep you posted.
