With the associated high costs and lack of land availability, many businesses are looking outside Toronto to grow and expand. As they start to look outside the city, many are discovering the city of Hamilton and everything that is has to offer.
With a population of over 500 000, Hamilton is one of the largest cities in Ontario. In 2012, Atlanta-based Site Selection Magazine named Hamilton the top investment city in Canada. For the second year in a row, The Calgary-based Real Estate Investment Network ranked Hamilton the top location across the province of Ontario. FDI Magazine has also ranked Hamilton has one of the top cities in North America for quality of life.
The community of Flamborough has seen much growth as a result of its educated workforce, stunning natural amenities and our diverse resilient economy. Several of our local businesses have expanded, including Coreslab, Liburdi and Connons. Others are celebrating longevity, such as Dyments Farms, which celebrated 125 years in business this past year.
The Waterdown Core is bustling with new businesses, including the new restaurant Cascata in Carlisle. A number of environmental/green energy companies have also made Flamborough their place to work.
Even with all of the growth, Flamborough is still home to a vibrant agri-business sector. It’s also a great place to live!
Ward 15 – Flamborough offers so many opportunities for both our residents and those who are looking to build, invest and expand.
This new development and investment in our community creates opportunities for other businesses as well. As the population increases and more residents have gainful employment, the more opportunities there are to sell products and services in the area. You don’t have to be a large corporation to invest in Flamborough or elsewhere in the city of Hamilton. We are very supportive of small businesses and entrepreneurs who want to open up in our city.
