The City of Hamilton is preparing an update to the Solid Waste Management Master Plan (SWMMP), which provides a blueprint for solid waste management in Flamborough/Hamilton for the next 25 years. The SWMMP will prioritize how the City will work towards minimizing waste and extending the life of the Glanbrook Landfill.
To complete this update, the City is seeking input from the public and would appreciate your assistance in completing a survey available at this link, open until February 7, 2020. This will help to gather public opinion on the City’s current program and potential direction for the future of our waste programs.
The updated SWMMP will map out the City’s long-term waste plan (~25 years) while identifying the short term activities (~5 years) that will support the early objectives of this plan. The SWMMP included blue box recycling, source separated (green bin) organics, yard waste, household hazardous waste and garbage, as well as the public education and other support pieces of the program.
